Project Manager - Software Development

This position requires strong attention to detail, with a firm understanding of budgets and timelines. You should have prior hands-on experience developing software in a commercial environment so you can speak easily with both programmers and clients. You should have a good understanding of business processes, with the ability to understand our client’s needs and be able to translate those needs into written specifications. You will participate in the creation and development of concepts.

Some of your main duties are managing client requirements and department resources, using your excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking. You decide how to allocate company resources to be more productive. Other responsibilities include managing a team of programmers to be more creative and making applications that will satisfy customer needs.

You must have a strong understanding of project management principles and also a fluency using Microsoft Project for planning and reporting.


  • Identify resource requirements (defined skills, competencies, roles and responsibilities) to assemble the project team
    • Lead and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of quality, scope, schedule and budget
    • Conduct ROI analysis and business case studies for project approval
    • Perform business process evaluation in efforts to improve current processes in place within both the business and technical communities
    • Ensure all project deliverables are completed according to plan
    • Work closely with business sponsors and internal IT teams to evaluate the business scope/objectives, assess impacts to the project and develop the most cost-effective and efficient solutions
    • Develop detailed status reports and summarized executive updates
    • Ensure alignment of project objectives and business needs with the project sponsors
    • Work with team in resolving existing system and/or project related issues
    • Build a high-performance team by leading, mentoring, motivating and inspiring individuals to meet the project requirements
    • Coordinate communication and collaboration among internal and external technical resources in order to derive technical and functional solutions to address both tactical and strategic business issues and initiatives.
    • Develop, organize and manage issues, risks, actions items, change control and communication plans
    • Coordinates project deliverables across all areas of the organization and with vendors
    • Alerts management to project issues such as cost, schedule or scope changes
    • Negotiates resolutions to project issues where cost, schedule, scope or quality are at risk
    • Monitors project budget against actual costs incurred
    • Reviews and signs off on all project deliverables
    • Manages the vendor procurement and evaluation processes when soliciting software or services from technology partners.
    • Ensure development managers are informed of the required resource needs for successful project delivery
    • Track project metrics (SPI, CPI, requirements exposure, quality control, etc) to effectively manage scope, cost, quality and the schedule
    • Identify, document and communicate lessons learned
    • Provide performance feedback on project team resources
    • Develop good working relationships with both internal and external business partners
    • May perform other duties as required







• Must have minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience (coding)

• At least 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager
• Functional Specification Documentation: Use Case Specifications, Use Case Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams.

• SQL/Query Tools desired but not required
• Experience managing Enterprise projects
• Travel & Hospitality Experience desired but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and vendors
